1825 vor den Toren Glasgows gegründet, produziert die Brennerei Auchentoshan Single Malt Whisky, der dreifach destilliert ist. Was eher in Irland typisch ist, findet man in Schottland schon seltener. Eine dreifache Destillation lässt den Spirit und späteren Whisky sehr mild reifen, was Auchentoshan, übersetzt soviel wie „Ecke des Feldes“ bedeutet, besonders bei Einsteigern sehr beliebt macht.

Auchentoshan American Oak reifte für nicht definierte Zeit in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern, abgefüllt mit milden 40 vol. % Alkohol.

 

Aroma: Zitrusfrüchte und Birne, Vanille und eine Spur Kokosnuss, malzig, grasige Frische.

Geschmack: Mild und süß mit leicht trockener Getreidenote, Birnen und Äpfel, zarte Eiche.
