Bereits 1779 gegründet, stellt Bowmore die älteste Whiskybrennerei auf der schottischen Isle of Islay dar. Bekannt für ihre rauchigen Whiskys ist Bowmore allerdings mit etwa 35 ppm Rauchgehalt im Malz einer der milderen Vertreter der Insel. Bekannt ist die Destillerie neben ihren Abfüllungen für das Vault No.1 – das einzige Lagerhaus Schottlands, das unter dem Meeresspiegel liegt.

Bowmore 30 Jahre reifte die komplette Zeit in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Bourbon- und Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit 45,1 vol. % Alkohol.

 

Aroma: Reife und exotische Fruchtnoten, würzig-floral mit cremiger Süße und einem Hauch von Rauch, Eukalyptus und Eiche.

Geschmack: Fruchtig mit Banane und Ananas, süße Vanille und Honig, tiefe Würzigkeit mit mineralischer Kante, Heidekraut, trockenes Holz.
