Bereits 1779 gegründet, stellt Bowmore die älteste Whiskybrennerei auf der schottischen Isle of Islay dar. Bekannt für ihre rauchigen Whiskys ist Bowmore allerdings mit etwa 35 ppm Rauchgehalt im Malz einer der milderen Vertreter der Insel. Bekannt ist die Destillerie neben ihren Abfüllungen für das Vault No.1 – das einzige Lagerhaus Schottlands, das unter dem Meeresspiegel liegt.

Bowmore Legend reifte für nicht definierte Zeit in ehemaligen Bourbon- und Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit milden 40 vol. % Alkohol.

 

Aroma: Anklänge von Leder und trockenen Apfelscheiben, etwas Honig mit leichtem Torfrauch.

Geschmack: Milde Honigsüße, maritime Frische mit mineralischem Rauch und neuem Leder.
