Michel Couvreur ist ein Wein- und Spirituosenhändler aus dem französischen Burgund, der zum einen hochwertige Weinfässer (insbesonere Sherryfässer aus Spanien), zum anderen schottisches Destillat zukauft, um eben diese Fässer in Frankreich mit dem New Make zu befüllen. Da die Abfüllung in Flaschen nicht in Schottland stattfindet, darf sich der fertige Whisky nicht Scotch nennen. Darüber hinaus verzichtet Michel Couvreur auf seinen Etiketten auf die Nennung der Destillerie, da er von der Aussagekraft seiner Produkte überzeugt ist - unabhängig von einer bestimmten Brennerei.

Michel Couvreur Overaged reifte für 12 bis 27 Jahre in ehemaligen Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit 43 % vol. Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff.

 

Aroma: Anklänge von dunklen Trockenfrüchten, zuckriger Süße, Malz, mildem Gewürz und Eiche.

Geschmack: Fruchtig mit Rosinen, braunem Zucker, schokoladige Eichenholznote mit etwas Tabak.
