Die Brennerei Aberlour, die im gleichnamigen Ort in der schottischen Speyside liegt, wurde 1879 errichtet. Bekannt ist die Destillerie für ihre Abfüllungen, die in amerikanischen Bourbonfässern und spanischen Sherryfässern reifen. Besonderes Aushängeschild ist der faßstarke A’bunadh.

Aberlour Forest Reserve 10 Jahre reifte in ehemaligen Bourbon- und Sherryfässern, bevor er eine Nachreifung in frischen Fässern aus französischer Eiche erhielt. Abgefüllt mit milden 40 % vol. Alkohol.

 

Aroma: Vanille und Karamell, reife Äpfel und Birnen mit zarter Würzigkeit der Eiche.

Geschmack: Getreidebetont mit süßen Noten, einer Spur Pfeffer und aromatischer Eichenholznote.
